How do you define Amateur?

Amateurs have not accepted more than $500 remuneration for teaching lessons, clinics, and/or training horses in the last year.

How do virtual shows work?

Our virtual shows will always be listed as Saturday. Submission will open the Monday before the show date and will close Sunday after the show at midnight. The sign up form will be available on our website and shared on our social media pages. Members select the classes they would like to sign up for and add the video link for each class.

How do I start learning liberty?

Members have the option to sign up for a membership tier that includes an online educational video library. These videos go over one of the many ways to start your horse at liberty and advance up to specific maneuvers included in different classes. For in person learning check out Our Herd page for info on liberty trainers and events in your area.

What equipment do I need to teach my horse liberty?

Good news - you don't need much to get started! We would recommend having a whip or stick of some kind (i.e. carriage, dressage, lunge or carrot stick) before starting and if possible, have access to a smaller sized space (i.e. a round pen or small paddock).

Are the competitions open to all horses?

Absolutely! We welcome horses of all breeds, ages, and disciplines. Our goal is to create a community that celebrates all horses!
